I am an American expat that has done a terrible job at appreciating her own country in terms of travel. It took moving to the UK to understand that people actually choose America as a travel destination instead of Europe (why, I still do not understand).
This portion is largely underrepresented, but fear not. I have posts pending on New York city, New Orleans, Las Vegas and San Fran. If you are looking for local tips, I can cover much of the Northeast region of the States (I grew up in the DC area) plus Texas (lived there for 3 years) with some coverage of Oklahoma and the deep South (Louisiana, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida — spent lots of temporary time there traveling in and out).
